Devendra Fadnavis said Maha Vikas Aghadi government is free to conduct an inquiry in case of phone-tapping allegation

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis denied the allegation of phone tapping of senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress leaders during his government in the state. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Devendra Fadnavis refuted the allegations levelled by Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh that the phone of non-BJP leaders was tapped during the 2019 Lok Sabha and Maharashtra assembly elections. Fadnavis, who is the leader of the opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra legislative assembly, said that his government didn’t give any such orders and that it was not the culture of the state.My government didn’t give any such orders. Phone tapping is not the culture of Maharashtra,’ said Devendra Fadnavis. The BJP leader further stated that the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government is free to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
