Udaipur is one of the most exquisite and picturesque cities in Rajasthan. It was founded in 1557 A.D. by Maharana Udai Singh II. According to history, Chittorgarh was the capital of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar, but as it was attacked several times by the Mughals, the capital was shifted to Udaipur in 1568 A.D. 

Surrounded by Aravalli range from three sides, the steep mountains provide protection to this fort city. When you visit it, you will feel an ancient vibe of Indian kings and queens.

  • Lake Pichola

The lake is 4 km long and it is world-famous for its beauty. It indeed gives a tough competition to cities like Venice and the rest of Europe. To get the full view of the experience you must take a boat ride and check out the two islands on it — Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas. You can also go for a sunset boat ride at Lake Pichola to enjoy the sunset while watching the dazzling palaces and buildings surrounding the lakes.

  • Jagdish Temple

It is a 400-year old temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, It is one of the top tourist locations of Udaipur. The temple is carved with ornate sculpture, gorgeous – carved pillars and stunning work of masonry. The temple also follows the rules of Vastushastra. According to it the design of this temple is optimized to channel the flow of positive energy.

  • City Palace

The Udaipur City Palace is around 300 years old but yet it is one of the most exquisite and beautiful palaces you will ever see. It is situated on the banks of Lake Pichola and has a vibrant mix of Mughal and Mewar architecture. You have to take out at least two hours to experience the beauty of the city palace and sometimes even a full day is not enough. You can explore Sheesh Mahal, Bhim Vilas, Badi Mahal and Mor Chowk at the royal courtyards, kitchens and the beautiful Zenana Mahal.

  • Dharohar Dance Show

The dance show starts at 7 pm and you must attend this folk dance performance in the historic haveli. Sit at comfortable gaddas or balconies or haveli steps and enjoy the dance performance. It gives you an authentic feeling of going back to the era of Indian kings enjoying their evening time seeing folk dances. 

This dance show occurs every day at Bagore Ki Haveli.
