The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday reached the residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren for questioning in a money laundering case. The questioning comes a day after high-tension political drama in the state when the opposition BJP declared Hemant Soren “missing” and claimed he was absconding from a federal agency.
Amidst intense speculations about his arrest, ED is currently questioning Hemant Soren and if the Jharkhand CM is arrested, his wife Kalpana Soren is the frontrunner for the post of Chief Minister.
“You can see central government and BJP hatching conspiracies to destabilize and topple governments and form their government in non-BJP-ruled states. So the party is ready to face all conspiracies and deal with them. But no such situation will happen. because all the MLAs in the alliance are united. Hemant Soren will be the CM…We are hearing this from the media,” JMM MP Mahua Maji said on speculation of his arrest.
