Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu emphasized the common commitment of the US and India to stop the Israel-Palestine conflict from getting worse ahead of the November 10 ministerial conversation between the two countries. This significant declaration was issued on Thursday during a media briefing in Washington, DC, highlighting the nations’ common goals of supporting a two-state solution, maintaining Middle East stability, and halting the spread of the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
Donald Lu highlighted India’s clear denunciation of the Hamas terrorist act while applauding the country’s position on the Israel-Hamas conflict. He emphasized that India had joined the United States and other governments in demanding continuous humanitarian access to Gaza.
Lu made clear that managing the Israel-Palestine problem, preserving Middle East peace, and promoting a two-state solution are goals that the US and India share. The US State Department said that the leaders will also discuss Russia’s assault against Israel, Hamas, and Ukraine.
