In an electrifying encounter on Saturday, the Indian women’s hockey team showcased exceptional prowess as they conquered Malaysia with a resounding 5-0 victory in the Jharkhand Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2023, held in Ranchi. This victory marked India’s second consecutive win in the tournament, solidifying their position as strong contenders.

The Indian team kicked off the match with an unmatched intensity, deploying a high-press strategy and constantly searching for a breakthrough right from the start. Despite a few valiant efforts from Malaysia, the Indian defense and goalkeeper ensured a clean sheet. Deep Grace Ekka’s dragflick was denied by a spectacular save from Malaysian goalkeeper Nur Zainal, preserving India’s formidable lead.
