Shah Rukh Khan wrote a note for Team India after they lost the 2023 World Cup final against Australia. Shah Rukh was one of the many who witnessed the match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
He was joined by his wife Gauri Khan and their children, Suhana Khan and Aryan Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan on losing the World Cup
After Australia won the match, Shah Rukh took to his X account to thank the men in blue for their performance. He wrote: “The way Team India has played throughout this tournament is a credit and has shown great spirit and tenacity. It’s a sport and there are always going to be a bad day or two. Unfortunately, that happened today….but thank you Team India for that we are so proud of our sporting heritage in cricket… you bring too much joy to all of India. Love and respect. You make us one proud nation.”
Celebrities at the match
Team Australia defeated India by 6 wickets. Several celebrities including AbRam Khan, Shanaya Kapoor, Asha Bhosle, Daggubati Venkatesh, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Vivek Oberoi were seen at the stadium for the match. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan were seen along with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh who were also cheering for India from the stands. Deepika was joined by her sister Anisha and their father, badminton champion Prakash Padukone.
Ranveer Singh to Team India
Later, Ranveer took to his Instagram Story and wrote for the Indian team, “Some highs, some lows. Some good days, some bad days. Some wins, some losses. That’s sports. That’s life. We’re all gutted but let’s applaud our to the boys for giving it their all.”
Apart from them, Anushka Sharma and Athiya Shetty were also present at the stadium as their husbands played on the field. A photo of him grieving when India lost to Australia has now gone viral. After the match, Anushka was seen hugging Virat Kohli near the stands. Virat could not be seen in her face as she consoled him. Only his blue jersey with his name on it was visible as the camera was focused on his back.
