ZEE5 a crime drama web series ‘Rangbaaz Phirse’ Will Take You Back In ’90s

Since the deadly disease Coronavirus has taken its hold on the people and is spreading slowly slowly in India, due to this Government has declared complete lockdown. The whole country is under House arrest now. To keep myself engaged and entertain in such an unpredictable situation, I thought of watching something good. As I am not those melodramatic Saas Bahu Serial lover, nor other TV shows. I decided to watch the web series on ZEE5.

I came across a crime drama series ‘Rangbaaz Phirse’, which is based on a true story of Anandpal Singh, the series is inspired by people who weren’t likely to become criminals, but the system made them criminals. The story is about a topper, a gold medalist. The character who cleared the UPSC exam and could have joined the Force as an IPS officer, but falls into the bad political trap. The storyline is quite unique. The rustic background adds more volume to the storyline. It takes you back to the 1990s.

The title song of the series is indeed energizing and it’s perhaps this energy that the storytelling needed more too. The show was shot mostly in the interiors of North India and has ensured it the right visual backdrop, ringing enough authenticity to the story. The dialogues are precise, sparkling and uncinematic at the same time and the rustic flavor is as effective as it can get. The writers stick to the real story of the gangster.

Gangster Anandpal Singh is played by Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill. He is also supported by Sharad Kelkar, Mahima Makwana, Sushant Singh & more. Overall Rangbaaz Phirse is a great piece of entertainment directed by Sachin Pathak & writer Sidharth Mishra.

Jimmy Sheirgill who made his debut in this web series believes that besides action, emotion is the USP of the show. In fact, he laid a bet that if anyone doesn’t cry in the last 20 minutes of the show, he will lose anything. Because according to him the last 20 minutes of the show was a gripping one and would leave the audience in an emotional state.
