Situated 24kms from the city Adiyogi Shiva Statue is surrounded by luscious green pastures in the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains in the Western Ghats, which is the world’s largest bust statue devoted to the famed Hindu deity Shiva, sculpted out of 500 tonnes of steel. The sculpture measures 112 feet tall and is located in the Isha Yoga Complex in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the best places to visit in Coimbatore.
The monument, which is 34.3 metres tall excluding the pedestal, 45 metres long, and 7.62 metres broad, was recognised by the Guinness World Book of Records as the “biggest bust sculpture.” Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the founder of the Isha Foundation, designed the statue, which was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2017. The sculpture was created with the intention of inspiring and promoting yoga, and it is titled “Adiyoga,” which means “the first yogi,” as Lord Shiva is regarded as the inventor of yoga.

Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, also known as Nilgiri Biosphere Nature Park, was established in 1936 by the Coimbatore Zoological Park and Conservation Centre as a government endeavour to protect, conserve, and spread indigenous and rare, vulnerable, and endangered flora.
